Posted February 05, 2018 17:17:23 Microsoft has launched a new headset that works with its new Xbox console, and it can now be purchased with an infrared transmitter.
This is a major milestone for Microsoft, which has been testing out the headset for some time and has already sold a number of the devices to PC manufacturers.
The new Xbox-specific IR transmitter is compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro, as well as the upcoming Xbox One X console.
You can now get one for £149 ($195).
Microsoft has said the headset is designed to work with Xbox One, and is expected to launch on February 16th.
We have contacted Microsoft for comment on this article.
The Xbox One-specific Kinect IR transmitter will work with Windows 8.1, but not Windows 10.
You’ll need to purchase a Kinect for the new Xbox headset, and the device will not be available to purchase on Microsoft’s website.
There are no plans for Microsoft to release an IR camera or microphone to use with the new Kinect headset, however.
Microsoft is also releasing a Kinect Pro camera with Windows Hello for Windows 10, which will work the same way.
If you are looking to buy an Xbox One device from Microsoft, it is worth noting that the Xbox One S headset costs £299 ($379).
