The new Nintendo Wii US console is no longer the best-selling gaming system, according to new numbers released by the Electronic Arts.
According to market research firm SuperData Research, Nintendo Wii United is now in fourth place, ahead of PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation Vita.
The Wii U has sold nearly 1.8 million units, more than the PS4, Xbox One or Sony Vita combined.
Nintendo has now sold over 1.2 million consoles in its lifetime.
“The Wii U revolution has been one of the greatest innovations in video gaming for more than a decade, and it is the best performing gaming system ever,” said Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson.
“The new Wii U represents a massive leap forward for gamers and gamers’ experiences on the biggest platform ever.”
The new console has sold almost one million units worldwide, and more than 10 million of those units have been sold in the US.
It is now available for pre-order for $299.99.
Nintendo also revealed that its first-ever Nintendo Switch console, the $299 Nintendo Switch, is now on sale in the United States.
The new consoles also include new features, including the Nintendo Switch wireless charging station, which will allow gamers to recharge their portable gaming devices without the need for a bulky cable.
It also comes with a redesigned wireless controller, as well as a new touchpad, which adds a new dimension to Nintendo’s existing touchscreen.
“It’s clear to us that the Switch is a game changer, and we’re excited to share more details about the new console this holiday season,” said Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima.
The console will be available for purchase in November and will be the first Nintendo console to feature an OLED display, the same technology used in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It will also be the world’s first portable gaming system to feature a gamepad, a feature that was previously limited to the Nintendo 3DS.
